November has come and gone and we're now into December already. But we did some cool things this month.

We went for a lovely walk on Dartmoor and we did not get lost! Quite amazing! We also went up to Bath to enjoy the historic sights of that beautiful city. In the evenings, salsa dancing was not so popular so we will have to reorganise it again next year! Everyone enjoyed the bowling too.

But the highlight of the month was watching one of our teachers perform in a play. A group of students and teachers went to see Lydia acting in the musical comedy, Little Shop of Horrors. It was a superb evening and we are so proud of Lydia as it was her first play and she did so well! Afterwards, we went on stage for photos and Jonathon and Sosuke got into the action!

Wow! Doesn't the summer feel like a long time ago? Here are just a few photos from October to cheer you up!

I hope you like them and they bring back good memories of your stay here with us in Exeter.

Totnes Pirate Ship. Don't worry everyone, this wasn't the real boat! (And Sosuke wasn't the real captain!)

And finally, a lovely photo taken by Andy when he arrived at the school just as the sun was rising!

Well, Autumn is here everyone. After such a dry summer, our garden is getting plenty of rain to make it lovely and green again! ;-)

As with most years, September was not quite as busy as August, but there was still a lot happening here at the Academy. We said goodbye to the lovely group of Hiroshima University students who had been with us for a month, and we welcomed the group of Italians from Aosta for a couple of fun weeks. On top of that, we had all our other wonderful students from all over the world!

Our excursions took Alice and the students to some of the south west's most beautiful and interesting places. They enjoyed the sunshine at Torquay and Salcombe, experienced the art scene at St Ives and explored the shops and museums of Bristol. In the evenings, they also had time to visit Exmouth and the Double Locks and see Exeter at night on Alice's pub crawl!

Here are this month's photos:

And finally, I found this one from August. I know it's a bit late, but it's a great photo! (Thanks to Marta for taking it)

Exmoor group Aug 2013

Hello everyone!

So the summer is almost over, but we're still going here at the Academy! August wasn't as hot as July but it has still been a nice month (especially compared to the rain we had in previous years!)

With so many students in the school, we've had some of our busiest excursions ever. I've been working here for 4 years, but our trip to Sidmouth was the first time we filled the bus. It was great fun coming home singing and dancing together!

In addition to Sidmouth, we also went to Topsham for beer and a walk, Stourhead for a bit of culture, the Jurassic Coast and Exmoor for some beautiful scenery, Plymouth for some good food and a boat trip, an outdoor cinema for some entertainment and, of course, we had our famous barbeque night!

It's been great to meet so many new people over this summer and it's also been wonderful to welcome back so many old faces like Meryem, Saul, Kaoru, Mieko, Cedric, Sara, Karol, Miguel, Lorella and Anna! We hope to see you all (old and new students) again soon!

Enjoy the photos!

Best wishes everyone and I'll write again in September...after my well-deserved holiday ;-)

Steve

Hi everyone!

Well that has been the hottest July we've had for years!! It didn't rain for 3 weeks and it actually felt like we had a REAL summer! :-)

So because of this wonderful heatwave, the excursions have been great fun. We've been to the local beaches at Exmouth and Dawlish, visited the stunning Durdle Door in Dorset, been on lovely boat trips along the River Exe and the River Dart, had a fantastic barbeque and a brilliant walk along the North Devon coast!

So, as with every summer, it's been really busy! But the students have made it so much fun! At the moment, we've got such a variety of nationalities (17 in total!): French, Korean, Italian, Saudi, Swiss, Japanese, Belarussian, Polish, Taiwanese, Greenlandic, Russian, Turkish, and more. The summer is always one of my favourite times at the school because there are so many people from different countries and of different ages and everybody gets on so well together. It makes Exeter Academy such a special place to work and study.

So, if anyone wants to come back and study with us, we still have a few spaces available in August but we're getting busier! If you would like to come, or you have a friend who needs to improve his or her English, please get in touch! We would love to see you all again!

Here are some photos for you to enjoy!!
